Church of the Transfer of the Relics of Saint Nicholas

The Church of the Transfer of the Relics of the Holy Father Nicholas is located in Belegish, which is one of the largest Orthodox churches in Srem. The first church in this place was built in 1731, but it was damaged due to the erosion of the Danube bank. The construction of the current temple began in 1924 and ended in 1926, when the temple was consecrated by Patriarch Dimitrije. The church was built in the Byzantine style, and its dimensions and architecture make it an impressive sacred object. The temple has a valuable collection of church books and liturgical objects dating from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Elementary School "Vera Miščević"

The elementary school in Belegish is named after Vera Miščević, a Serbian heroine. The school was founded on April 26, 1977, by the merger of two elementary schools from Belegish and Surduk. The school complex in Belegish has existed since the middle of the 18th century, with the first information about the teacher Lazar Simonović from 1780. Throughout its history, the school has suffered severe damage, including a fire in 1943. Today's school building was built between 1948 and 1952. The school was recently renovated and now provides modern conditions for the education of students from Belegish and the surrounding villages.
